But it's interesting to notice how the Bible can give us a lot of insights on understanding our actual condition as human beings: paying close attention, it's possible to read a lot of references about darwinism and even modern physics/cosmology across it.
Due to the fact the that Bible's content is almost thousands of years dated, this is quite impressive, at least. I'm not like interpreting it in a literal way, it's more like poetry: it's possible to find several meanings on it, and the words are sinuous.
What puzzles me more is the using of "us" when God refers to Himself: "let us make man on our image", etcetera. What does that mean?
I read some books and articles about the "God as a scientist" theory. This philosophical tendency states that God is somewhat an entity limited in space and time spectrum, and uses the human beings as experiments to a major purpose. This is not a popular idea, as it "humanizes" God, bestowing Him limitations, human emotions and doubts, mainly about mankind. I'm not inclined to this idea, but what if God uses "us" in order to refer to Himself and the other "scientists"? Who'd be those "scientists"? Would them be in an equal condition to God, since they contribute on the Creation?
I noticed that the term "us" is used only in Genesis. Because of that, I'm bent to believe this is related to the nature of things: God is One, and refers to himself as Two, due to the fact that, in the Beginning of Time, Everything was joint together, and the Universe didn't have the polar dichotomy that permeates us (hot/cold, light/darkness, good/evil). In the Beginning, the border between things and Time itself didn't exist, so it'd be senseless to say "I" in that scenario; it'd be proper to say "us". Right after the Creation, "us" is no more used to designate God, and He assumes a single, punctual and male identity ("Yahweh").
It's quite weird, I know...it's something I've been thinking about lately, and, up to now, I didn't find any publication supporting that idea. Could that be completely original of mine?! O__o
Should I quit my job and start to profess my own spiritual cult?
hahahahha!
